Roots and Reach Independent Living and Social Connections
Empowering Neurodivergent Individuals to Thrive in Community
About Roots and Reach
At Roots and Reach, we understand that for many individuals with developmental disabilities, making meaningful social connections can be an incredibly difficult and isolating challenge. Friendships do not always happen automatically, and that is why our mission is so deeply important to us.
We believe that developing personal independence goes hand-in-hand with building real, lasting relationships. We provide mobile, community-embedded instruction and social recreation that breaks down social barriers. Our approach takes learning directly into real-world environments, allowing participants to practice essential life skills exactly where they matter most which is out in the community!
Through small, supported peer groups, we help neurodivergent individuals navigate local transit, practice budgeting, and explore upscale community landmarks together. Whether we are exploring local museums, going to the movies, cheering at sporting events, or shopping at vibrant farmer’s markets, we are always learning and we are always growing. At Roots and Reach, we guide our clients as they grow their roots of daily self-sufficiency while extending their reach to build the genuine friend circles they truly deserve.
Our Services
Our program is backed by strong professional expertise, combining credentialed education in the field with extensive, hands-on experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities. This blend of academic and practical knowledge allows us to design highly effective, person-centered instruction tailored to each client’s unique behavioral, social, and communication goals. We prioritize strict safety supervision metrics, maintaining small safety ratios of 1:4 or lower for all community excursions. Our curriculum is designed to perfectly align with federal community integration standards. All sessions utilize central, public drop-off and pick-up hubs located in Sacramento, Roseville, Elk-Grove, and El Dorado Hills.
